Hi there
I have recently purchased a Shopify store.
I see that Google Analytics has a UA a/c number placed in preferences.
However when I go to login to Google Analytics it’s asking me to set up a new UA.
All the Google a/c’s were updated with new passwords before I purchased so It seem like I cannot access.
So is it best just to open a new UA account and start again?
The site has been dormant for about 2 years so there will be no relevant data anyway.
Am I right?
Thanks in advance … Warwick
Hi @EcoFox ,
Apologies for the delay in getting to your question. Your instincts are absolutely right! You want to use Google Analytics to gather really useful information to help with your marketing, so you should set up Google Analytics again, complete with a new account , in order to start afresh.
Interestingly, third-party data collected by Google Analytics is increasingly coming under pressure from legislators and companies like Apple, so you might want to take this opportunity to familiarise yourself with Shopify Analytics ! Shopify Analytics is a way to collect first-party data and use it to maximum effect.
I hope this helps!
