I have a clothing store where some products are available as backordering once a size has sold out. I have found where to “continue selling once inventory runs out” however, it doesn’t show the customer that they are ordering a backorder vs. an in-stock product. I was using woocommerce before and it would show “out of stock but available for backordering” Currently, shopify doesn’t show a difference between the 2 and just gives the customer the option to order more. Backordering takes a longer time frame than to process something that is currently in-stock so how would a customer know which they are ordering? My backordering isn’t by size either it’s more by quantity. Meaning I can give the option to allow up to 5 backorders on one product, regardless of sizing. Is there a way to do this?
