Show Multiple child SKUs linked to master product

Hi,

I have a website that sells garden furniture.

each “set” has one SKU but this set is made up of several components with multiple “child” SKU’s

Example -

Outdoor 6 seat dining set with parasol and base - SKU = 654789

When this order comes through the warehouse can not see which components this set is made up of -

654789 consists of -

6 x Chairs - 456

1 x Dining Table - 123

1 x Parasol - 357

1 x Base - 951

I have found an app that allows me to manage the inventory of the “child” components but it does not show the break down on the order or picking list for the warehouse.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Thanks for the post, could you please share STORE URL so I can check and advice accordingly.

The solution would be easy.

Thank you

Hey @Duxburys in Shopify this might be treated as a bundle, in the supply chain world, this would be called kitting. Kitting is the process of creating one product from multiple SKUs.

There may be some simple apps to help you here, such as Bundle Kit (not affiliated) but these may not offer you the full breadth of what you are looking for.

For a complete system to handle this semi-complex challenge you can check out SKUSavvy which is a full Shopify WMS that will manage the entire warehouse, inventory control, pick-pack-ship, transfers, and beyond. Here’s a longer features list:

  • Create bin locations on a visual warehouse layout tool
  • Place purchases and check-in product as it arrives then allocate product to bin locations
  • Add as many employee accounts as needed with task-based permissions
  • Pull in orders from stores to have one place to manage all orders
  • Batch orders for picking to pick through many orders at once (or handle them one by one)
  • Visually see the location of each item to pick
  • Barcode scanning across items, bins, batches, shipping labels
  • Sync inventory quantities directly with Shopify
  • Create kits and assemble kits according to orders for the kit
  • Cross-dock inventory between locations
  • Automate product updates, inventory, customers, orders, etc. between Shopify
  • Connect your carrier accounts to get live shipping rates on demand, purchase and print all-in-one

For your kitting challenge, we deal with kits in the system to help you keep track of kits and the creation of those kits all in it’s own workflow within the app.

It would be great to get on a call to discuss your unique needs, we have on occasion also worked with companies to add in specific functionality to match the exact needs you face.
