Show product as out of stock for a market

Hey all! I found the below and watched the video multiple times, but I still cannot figure out where I’m making a mistake in trying to set up for one market to see in stock while another market sees out of stock.

https://community.shopify.com/t/how-to-choose-an-inventory-for-each-market

I have set up USA (default) and Europe markets. I have set up locations for USA and Europe. In my general shipping profile, I have shipping settings for USA and Europe zones.

I do have ‘show only fulfillable inventory’ checked in my shipping settings.

At the product level, I have stock as 10 for USA, and 0 for Europe for a specific variant.

Somewhere, I’m missing how to ensure that the USA market sees in-stock and the Europe market sees out of stock.

I’ve been racking my brain about this because it feels like I’m either not understanding something, or a key piece of instruction/info is missing from that thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @ryanb819z

Be sure that the product is indeed assigned to both locations, and that each market is mapped to a specific location in your market settings. Then confirm that you haven’t set the variant’s inventory to track a combined total. Allocate each market to a single location and the inventory difference will show.

This is what I cannot figure out or understand: Where to set that only USA gets USA inventory, and Europe gets Europe inventory. I’ve gone through all the settings and I’m clearly missing something.

It’s very easy to solve. 1. Create locations, 2. Assign products’ inventories to locations, 3. Create markets, 4. In shipping and delivery’s general profile, add locations and asign specefic markets zones and rates. Shopify will match your shipping zone and markets, and will show in stock for a specific market ( USA) and out of stock for a specific market ( Europe ). Hope that helps.
