Show specific images for variant selector, without it showing in the gallery

I am trying to display certain variant images on my product page, without them showing in the product gallery:

This is for example what i am trying to display as variant images, but then it automatically shows the images in the product gallery, what i don’t want. Is there a way to choose the images only for the variant selector?
