My Shopify site is showing a lot of codes starting with data-ph-meta, I don’t know how this is appearing and where to remove them, I can’t find the location.
Also, I don’t have the Facebook pixel plugin installed.
Hello @Austin_LJ ,
The data-ph-meta codes that you are seeing in your Shopify site are likely related to the Pixel Helper extension for Google Chrome. When you load your Shopify site with the Pixel Helper extension enabled, it will scan the page and look for any Facebook pixels that have been implemented. These codes are not harmful and do not affect your site’s functionality. They are simply added by the Pixel Helper extension as a way to provide information about your Facebook pixel implementation.
You can remove them by:
- Go to you Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code
- Click on Layout folder → find the file contains the ‘data-ph-meta’ codes.
- Locate the ‘data-ph-meta’ codes in the file. They will look something like this:
- Delete the ‘div’ tag that contains the ‘data-ph-meta’ codes.
- Save and repeat steps for any files contains ‘data-ph-meta’
Note that the Pixel Helper extension is simply a tool to help you troubleshoot and validate your pixel implementation, and the data-ph-meta codes are added by the extension for this purpose.
If you are not actively using the Pixel Helper extension and do not need to troubleshoot or validate your Facebook pixel implementation, then removing the data-ph-meta codes from your site’s HTML should not have any negative effects.
Hope this can help. Let us know if you need any further assistance.
