Showing both all items and only in-stock items on website

I would like to give customers the option to browse our inventory online two different ways.

1. View our entire inventory (which is how it’s set up now), and

2. View in-stock items only.

I know this is doable because one of our competitors has both options available on their homepage and they are using the exact same theme (“Debut”) that we do.

I see some related questions & answers here but nothing specific to what I’m looking for, so I’m hoping someone can help me with my specific question.
