Hi all, I am currently using BOLD subscriptions to show subscription options on my products.
Right now, it only shows the subscription price on a product page.
Does anyone know how to expand this functionality to products in collection views?
The add to cart button would then add the subscription to the cart
Hi @OptimalPaw ,
In terms of UX, I guess the problem would be that from a Collection page you would not have enough information to choose a subscription.
I mean, for instance, duration, price, and discounts based on the subscription length. It would crowd the product grid and would be confusing in my opinion.
What I would consider maybe would be to add a label or a tag on the products in the grid that have a subscription that says something like “save with monthly subscription” and that links to the Product Page.
That said, with some tweaks in the code you could definitely add the subscription variants in the cart, but that also depends on the Bold version you are using (v1 or v2).
Hope this helps

First of all, thank you for replying to my question.
I am using Bold v2.
I don’t need to worry about showing any descriptions on how to adjust the subscription. In fact, I imported the bsub-widget for each product and actually applied a style:“display: hidden” to hide it. ( I am planning to have a specific subscription option chosen for each one.
I can’t for the life of me find any documentation on how to:
1)properly pull the subscription price out of the bsub-widget correctly.
- clone an “add to cart” button to submit the action of adding the subscription to the cart instead of a one-time purchase product.
If you can help any further, that would make me so happy.
Hey @OptimalPaw ,
No worries at all.
I see. So I can’t give you precise instructions on this because it’s a specific and kind of unique use case.
However, I am almost sure it can be done in a way or another, probably using the Bold API or just looking into the data passed to the widget, and use that data to create another button that is simply connected to an action (in this case, the action of adding to cart the subscription variant).
That said, I see two options:
- Hire a developer to check and implement this for you
- Contact Bold and see if they can help with it
I hope this helps!
If you look to hire a dev, I would be happy to help you look into it.

Are you interested? yea I would like to hire someone to help on this.
If possible, the best outcome for me is to pay to have someone pair program with me on this.
Else, If I can’t find that, then I am open to outsourcing the job.
