Hi, I just want a simple total sales report to see what my store has sold to date by transaction so that I can export and for my tax spreadsheets.
There seems an endless and confusing choice of reports, could someone suggest which is most useful given my requirements.
I don’t need to individual items within an order, just order totals throughout out the year with date. Ideally with customer paid total and minus shopify fees too so I can match against my bank account records.

@southdownsclay Looks like you are looking for an order level report that includes payout details in a single view. Shopify’s default reports do not always let you combine sales and payout details in one report.
To find payout information, you typically need to go to the Finance section, review payouts, and then manually match orders using order numbers.
If you want a single report that connects sales to each payout with fields like order date, payout date, payout amount, fees, and other related details so you can easily reconcile it with your bank statement, you can try apps like Report Pundit or Data Export. You can also automate this report and have it sent to your email.
A simple year-to-date sales total for tax purposes should be a 10-second answer, not a maze of report options. You shouldn’t have to navigate 15 different report types just to get a number your accountant needs.

Go to Analytics > Reports > Finances > Sales Finance report in your Shopify admin. Filter by date range, export as CSV and it gives you order totals, taxes, and fees in one place.

I’m reviving this thread as still not got a clear answer, Thank you MurphyRay but I do not have a “sales finance report” on my list.
I am going into analytics > filtering by Finances and then have 36 different reports! Ive shown them below.
I just want a spreadsheet that shows, order number, sale total and Shopify fee paid (if Shopify Pay used) IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK SHOPIFY!!!
Shopify payments are made Net and in blocks so I need the above for Tax purposes in the UK, this must be a common thing, Id be really grateful if someone can help me out so I dont have to do this manually on every order.
