I sell a gift box bundle that contains multiple individual skincare products (serum, eye patches, lip care). Should this be listed as a single bundle product in my feed, or does Google need each component broken out as individual SKUs to surface it in AI Overviews? And does a bundle listing get penalized for not having GTINs on each component?
If you sell the gift box as 1 item, then you list 1 product listing in Google Merchant Center.
The same way you would list it in Shopify, ie 1 product.
Bundle or single product, does not hold any difference from the perspective of AI overviews or Google Shopping.
If no barcode exist, don’t use it, Google will only care if it knows there is a barcode.
If an item in the gift box has barcodes, you do need to use the barcode of the main item in that gift box.
Simply add the barcode of the main item in this case in Shopify, and Google will see it.
If no barcode existing, nothing to worry about.
