@Melanie_Marie I haven’t found a solution that makes sense for us to use (given our few sales to the UK) beyond preventing all sales to the UK. Preventing these sales was fairly straightforward using the standard Shopify shipping options.
For others reading this, I gather that the requirement is for us to 1) get a UK tax number, 2) collect 20% VAT on orders below £135 from UK customers and 3) remit those taxes monthly to the UK tax authority. This is way too much trouble for our few sales / year, though if Shopify were to automate it for us I’d do it.
We’ve shipped a few packages to the UK this year without a UK tax number and without trouble.
I didn’t know there was going to be trouble with shipping to the EU too…!
