Hello everyone.
Since few days, having this message in conversion diagnostic section of google ads.
Cart data is being recorded but there are issues that require your attention. Many recent conversions have sold item IDs that can’t be matched to Merchant Center.”
We are using custom feed with own product IDS rather than content api and we are also using Google youtube app for conversation tracking. Upon download CSV of errors we found that some of shopify ids are not matching with our merchant feed ids. There are almost 10 of these and they are like:

shopify_US_XXXXX_YYYYY

but in manual feed our IDS are XXXX_123. Can anyone help me to fix this.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you already see the issue and know how to fix it.

Either update your feed to match the IDs (not recommended, as this can remove your performance and deletes the historical data) Which you may end up needing to do.

You can setup a custom conversion tracking, so that you can control how the product ids are shown.

What is interesting is that you say you have 10, is it 10 out of 10 or 10 out of many more products.

If it’s 10 out of 10, I recommend changing your manual feed id’s

really? You think I know the solution but I am here to waste mine and other people time ?

Hey there,

You have two options:

  1. Adjust Your Custom Merchant Center Feed - You need to change the values in the id column of your Merchant Center feed (the one with your XXXX_123 format) to match the shopify_US_XXXXX_YYYYY format for those specific products.

or

  1. Set up custom conversion tracking (if you really want to keep your own product IDs)

The Google & YouTube app is hard-coded by Shopify to capture conversion data using the default Shopify product identifier format shopify_US_XXXXX_YYYYY. This data is sent to your Google Ads conversion tag. So it can’t track custom product IDs.
