Some Customers Not Able To Visit Website Due to "SSL" Issues - No One Is Able To Solve This

For the past year or so, our team has been going through an extremely frustrating time trying to figure out why a large portion of our customers are unable to visit our website due to “Unsecure Website” issues.

We’ve contacted our domain host, GoDaddy, multiple times, and they just tell us to contact Shopify. Then we’ve contacted Shopify a few dozen times who keeps telling us that there is no issue on their end. Shopify also has reissued a new SSL Certificate multiple times, but we are still getting dozens of customer emails a day saying that they are unable to visit our website, although some other customers have no issue.

This seems to be happening mostly when customers are visiting our website through WiFI connections rather than cellular data, but knowing the fact that almost every person uses WiFi, this has been causing us to lose 90% of sales judging by the amount of emails we have been receiving.

We recently also hired a iT specialist who looked over our entire website and made sure everything was secure and up to date, however, this issue is still going on.

I know we are not the only ones with this issue as there is quite a few other Shopify forum discussions on this, but it seems like Shopify has done absolutely nothing to solve it and is outsourcing support to international agents who have no clue on how to solve this. The issue is definitely from Shopify as we have no issue when hosting the same domain on another website.

If anyone has any fix to this whatsoever, please let us know. Also, please do not recommend us to install a new SSL Certificate as we have confirmed this is up to date.

It’d be nice to see the site in question, otherwise only guessing is possible.

Is it specific to a browser, type of device, provider?

Are you sure this problem is SSL-related – it could be some kind of scam protection done by visitors internet provider (example: https://community.shopify.com/post/2327847).

While it is possible that newer certificates are not supported by some ancient browsers, but its highly unlikely that this is the case.
