Someone has opened a store using my mailing address and phone number, but their own email.

Someone (https://jobicycles.myshopify.com) has opened a shopify store using our mailing address and phone number. They used their own email to open the account, so there isn’t a way to close the store. We are a Fire Department, and are receiving phone calls regarding buying this person’s bicycles, which is very likely a scam. How can we go about removing said store?

If you believe that a store is using your information or the store is potentially fraudulent, then you can file a report on the store here: Report an issue with a merchant. Once that’s done, our specialized teams will be able to conduct an internal investigation and take action where appropriate. While our teams may reach out to you should they need more information, we may not be able to share updates regarding ongoing investigations as that can erode the review process.

I am in the same boat. Someone has opened a Shopify store (https://subbiahshop.com/) using our mailing address and phone number. They used their own email address to create the account, so we do not have access to the store or any way to close it ourselves.

This situation has caused significant mental stress and has wasted a considerable amount of our time since it started happening, as we are being contacted about a business we do not own, operate, or have any connection with.

I reached out to Shopify’s legal team by email, but there does not appear to be a direct phone number where I can speak with someone. It has now been two days, the store is still active, and I continue to receive phone calls from customers about orders connected to this store. I am requesting urgent assistance from Shopify in investigating this store, removing our mailing address and phone number from it, and shutting it down if it is found to be fraudulent.

Other than that – contact the police, this can easily be considered impersonation, fraud and stealing of personal information…
