Sorting products by SKU in the collection page

Is it possible to do the default sort of the items in the collections pages to be by SKU code?

This doesn’t appear to be a native feature of Shopify. We’re having the same issue as well. My only thought for a work around is to set the collection sorting to manual and then use a script to adjust it.
