Squarespace to Shopify Store + Blog Migration Advice

Hey all,

I’ve worked with a lot of Squarespace sites and I’m looking to begin migrating some clients to Shopify as it’s a request that’s occurring more and more regularly. I’m hoping to optimise my processes as best as possible and avoid issues with pagerank/seo etc.

I’ve got a decent process so far but things can always be refined.

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice from personal experience?

Are there any apps/tools that are a “must use” for this type of thing, or does the Shopify Store Importer cover enough?

I’ve seen LitExtension mentioned a few times.

I’m particularly concerned about things like Alt Text and Filenames being preserved. As well as reviews/comments on blogs.

Blogs, I’m aware, don’t update with the Store Importer tool, which is an issue.

Can anyone share some of the lessons they’ve learned in doing this that might not be common knowledge?

There are varied apps and third-party service providers that you can choose/contact to implement the migration to Shopify. Among these, Shopify Importer Tool is a wise choice as it’s easy to use and totally free. Nevertheless, if you are not familiar with the tool then it is likely that some unexpected results will cause you a headache.

For me, the most optimized store transfer process is LitExtension. As far as I know, they are the #1 expert in their field and are well-known for their high accuracy and safety migration quality.
