I have my Shopify store hosted on Host Papa and when I check cPanel’s SSL/TLS Status I see the following: An error occurred the last time AutoSSL ran. It goes on to say:
DNS DCV: No local authority: “www.****.ca”; HTTP DCV: The system queried for a temporary file at “http://www..ca/.well-known/acme-challenge/3XZ6V3JMAT7D4FLDT0D4QLDL4ZA9UENP” , but the web server responded with the following error: 404 (Not Found). A DNS (Domain Name System) or web server misconfiguration may exist. The domain “www....ca” resolved to an IP address “23.227.38.74” that does not exist on this server.
Anyone have experience with this or have a solution?
How was this resolved for you? I’m having the exact same problem (Shopify store with HostPapa domain)
AutoSSL would normally renew this certificate now, but 0 of the website’s secured domains just failed DCV. To provide you with more time to resolve these problems, AutoSSL will defer the renewal until Dec 21, 2021 at 5:03:38 AM UTC. After that time, AutoSSL will request a replacement certificate that excludes any domains that fail DCV.
Oddly enough, doing nothing resolved the problem for me. Shopify updates the certificate before it becomes a problem. The Hostpapa messages I assume are just triggered a few days earlier than the Shopify update date.
