Payments were placed on hold after a request to update business details. The merchant says they have a U.S. EIN (Employer Identification Number) and registered business, but no SSN (Social Security Number), and the verification form won’t accept the submission. They also receive a message that the EIN and business name don’t match.
Support explains they can’t authenticate or access account specifics via the public forum due to sensitive information. They direct the merchant to contact Shopify’s live support through the Help Center to verify store ownership and review the account details.
Key points:
Issue: Verification blocked by missing SSN and an EIN/name mismatch error.
Constraints: Forum can’t handle authentication or account-level investigation.
Action: Contact Shopify Support via the Help Center link to proceed with verification.
Status: Unresolved in-thread; outcome pending direct support review.
I provided all required details like EIN and Business name at time of store opening and the payments were working, but i got mail regarding payments are on hold and update business details, and again i filled all details, I have EIN and Business registered in USA but i am not having SSN, so the form is not accepted while filling details. I am putting EIN and Business name correctly but it is being told that they don’t match. Kindly guide to resolve the issue.
