How do I make a presence on the WWW with a listing? If I have an extremely rare item for sale, why doesn’t it show up on a Google search if there is less than one page of entries? Do I need to pay someone for this? Like Amazon does? What’s the magic here?
Hi, @solid2themax .
Thanks for posting to the forums, I hope your day is going well!
This is definitely a commonly asked question. While there is no fool proof method, it really comes down to optimizing your product page and store for search engines. This includes, but isn’t limited to:
- A specific product title
- Description with necessary keywords without keyword spamming
- Adding accurate meta data
- Adding Alt text to product images
- Submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console.
I recommend checking out our free course (no catch) SEO Training for Beginners. This will provide you the fundamental knowledge to organically rank your site!
In the meantime, I would love for you to provide a link to your product here. Perhaps I could give you some more specific guidance!
Hi Skye. Thanks for responding. I did sign up with Google to advertise and read up on the SEO stuff. I have some more homework to do though! I guess its a waiting game and a little serendipity. So here’s a link to the item I know is extremely rare:

This is due to a limited run in print with the 1998 publication. I would have imagined it would get to the top of list in the Google search, but maybe it was just a matter of enough clicks to the particular listing. This I see with Ebay in many cases.
