Started new shop-overwhelmed with solicitors

I opened my shop. I walked though all the steps Shopify wanted me to complete and now I’m left with a steady stream of solicitors telling me that my shop isn’t set up well enough to be successful and with their help, I will see instant success. Some ask for 1k after 30k profit, others have their own requests. Thoughts?

Hi @coastalseashelldecor

Welcome to the community.

Those are not solicitors for sure, but mostly scammers. So just disregard all those emails and offers. “Instant success,” think about it, do you really think it is possible?

You will just be throwing money away. So instead, try to invest your own time into research, first official documentation and YouTube Channels
https://help.shopify.com/en

Then, do take some time and check

To see what other members have issues or what they did well.
Lastly, search for ‘no sales’ and ‘zero sales’.

With all that, you will get a good amount of knowledge that can help you to grow your store on your own.

Good luck

Thank you for confirming my initial thoughts. I will check out some of your other suggestions.

@coastalseashelldecor.. Be alert, firstly be patient.. Nothing is quick.. I understand you open the store to make a profit.. It’s necessary..
But true right organic way..

I have not idea.. What you are in discussion with anyone( 1k to 30k profit ) can you share brief details, if possibly..

Also if you are searching for new customer and quick sales, should be try below things

  • Personal connection
  • Quick PPC platform ( meta and google ads - recommend meta and Instagram first )
  • Organic social way ( recommend to use the Instagram platform, manage 2-3 organic own self..

Invest your money in right place, and be patient.. Your new business need time..

Thanks, the pitch is “I’ll get you to 30k in profits and then all I ask for is 1k in return” Also get some asking for 5% commissions.

All new stores are vulnerable to scam phishing emails because it’s generally not something they are used to. You signed up for a public Shopify Store, your email is public information now.

DO NOT REPLY!

Just mark as spam and delete. Eventually, you will get less and less as time goes on. They target newer stores.

@coastalseashelldecor Sounds interesting, it’s work… most of the agency/partner offering…, you can internally review the company and start the work… 1k investment and 30k profit, it’s a good deal, you have to try it… Also, about the 5%, it also work…

" Finally, profit is a matter."

yeah that’s unfortunately normal. the second you launch a Shopify store, your email gets scraped and you get hammered by “Shopify experts” promising instant success for a fee. ignore all of them. every single one. if they were that good at ecommerce they’d be running their own stores, not cold-emailing yours.

the real help is free and it’s right here in this community. post your store URL and people will give you honest feedback for nothing. beyond that, Shopify’s own docs and YouTube are genuinely solid for learning the basics. don’t pay anyone until you’ve exhausted the free resources and know enough to tell whether someone actually knows what they’re talking about.
