Staying on the Same Tab when Logging In

Hello!

I am currently working on a hybrid app with Shopify. However, an issue I’m running into is that when I try logging in to an account using Google Login on a mobile platform (iOS Safari, iPhone 12), it opens the Google sign-in page on a separate tab.

Is there any way to direct to the Google sign-in page on the same tab, rather than opening a new tab?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
