Stock erroneously completely depleting after purchases

I’ve noticed that sometimes after a customer purchases something from my store, the stock for that item will automatically change itself to list as totally depleted despite there being plenty of physical stock left.

For example, I have 455 enamel pins in stock right now. On Friday, they were available in my store and I could see all 455 listed as “Available” and “On hand” in the back end of my store. On Sunday, somebody placed an order for 10 pins. When I arrived to work on Monday, the stock was showing as -10 available and 0 on hand. The stock will remain depleted until I adjust it manually.

This happens frequently for multiple items- does anyone know how to stop it?

Hi, @4-HBC . Thank you for sharing all of that context!

This definitely shoudn’t be happening, but it’s difficult to say why it is happening without seeing more information from your account. Off the top of my head I’m thinking this could be caused by the locations you’re using and which locations you are assigning inventory to and fulfilling orders from. That being said, we’d need to see more to know for sure. For more help with this I’d recommend reaching out to our support team through the Help Center here. We can’t see your account information over the Shopify Community, but if you speak with us through the Help Center we can look into this with you in more detail.
