Stocky standalone app ?

Topic summary

A multi-store retailer seeks a standalone or mobile-friendly version of Stocky for inventory management. The current workflow creates friction as managers must log into Stocky separately while employees use iPads for POS, making on-the-go adjustments and transfers cumbersome.

Current Stocky Limitations:

  • Only available within Shopify admin for POS Pro users
  • No dedicated standalone app exists
  • Limited mobile optimization

Available Workarounds:

  • Stocky offers 2 POS tiles for Purchase Orders and Inventory Transfers (accessible via Add Tile > App > Stocky)
  • Shopify’s mobile app allows basic inventory adjustments through the admin panel

Third-Party Alternatives Suggested:

  • Stock Sync and SKU IQ for multi-store flexibility
  • Stock Take app for inventory counts on POS
  • SKUSavvy for comprehensive mobile inventory management, including POs, transfers, bin management, and pick-pack-ship workflows (includes mobile screenshots)
  • Prediko (recommended by a user who switched from Stocky)

The discussion remains open with no official Shopify response regarding future standalone app development.

I have a multi store operation. Inventory management is extremely important. Currently I have to log into Stocky or have my managers log into stocky to make any changes such as adjustments or transfer outs . Are there any plans to make stocky a standalone app or more mobile friendly ? There’s lots of friction for a manager to bounce between stores and use stocky. We do not want to disrupt the employees using the iPad, but I also don’t want to have to log into stocky on a separate computer and it is not optimized for mobile .

Hi @selfevolve

Actually, Stocky is only available within Shopify’s admin for POS Pro users. There’s no standalone app at the moment, but here are a few workarounds:

  • Use Shopify’s mobile app – While not a perfect solution, you can manage inventory adjustments through the admin panel on mobile.
  • Third-party inventory apps – Apps like Stock Sync or SKU IQ offer more flexibility for multi-store operations and mobile management.

Hey @selfevolve

Stocky does currently have 2 tiles you can add to POS, allowing managing Purchase Orders & Inventory Transfers.
On POS if you click “Add Tile” > “App” > “Stocky” you will see the app extensions you can add that are mobile friendly.

Unfortunately it doesn’t have tiles for other functionality at the moment.

If you are looking for stock takes, I do have an app for that which can be used on POS https://apps.shopify.com/stock-take-inventory-count-1

Stocky is good short term solution but for managing stock across multiple stores and with POS, you should consider another app such as SKUSavvy which is designed to work exceptionally well with Shopify to create and manage POs, check-in, bin and inventory management, as well as transfers between warehouse and stores. Additionally SKUSavvy has a built in pick-pack-ship workflow to manage all your outbound orders efficiently. SKUSavvy is also fully mobile capable so you can do everything you need within the mobile version of the platform which runs directly in the browser on any device.

Hey @selfevolve

I would recommend Prediko. Have been using them for the past 1 year and have been very happy.

Was using Stocky earlier
