Just adding to the chorus to say I am devastated to hear the news Shopify is sunsetting Stocky. The “Purchase Order” function on Shopify does not create predictive orders based on sales, which is such an important feature. I hope the team rethinks this decision.

I was talking with another individual about Comics and the needs you guys have. Unfortunately with Stocky going away and Shopify’s roadmap for supporting features it just seems like there are going to be a lot of people left hanging.
Now, you may not be interested in paying for an app to do this (because Stocky was free), but based on my conversations with the comics store, FyreTrail can greatly help you with the pre-ordering and product release schedule that your stores have. I encourage you to take a look.
Besides that… comics and collectibles hold a near and dear place in my heart.

I get the concern, Stocky enabled a real missing link in forecasting. A good workaround is to combine your Shopify analytics exports with an inventory planning app such as Inventory Planner or with a scheduled export into Google Sheets with a few simple demand formulas. This brings back predictive ordering while maintaining the purchase order workflows within Shopify. Many merchants also combine this with reorder point rules to stay ahead consistently.

I hear this one a lot. Full disclosure up front: I build Stockyard, one of the PO apps people are migrating to, so weigh my take accordingly.
The predictive-reorder piece is genuinely the hardest thing Stocky took with it — most of the replacement apps (mine included) cover the PO/receiving/supplier workflow but don’t recreate the “suggest a reorder from sales history” intelligence yet. Anyone telling you their app fully replaces that, press them on the details.
What I’d suggest before Aug 31 regardless of where you land: export your supplier records, open POs, and order history out of Stocky now — once it’s gone, rebuilding supplier data from memory is the painful part. - Robert
