Hello everyone!! I built my store in three month and used The DAWN free theme to create my webiste and upload my preloved luxury leather goods product. I am 53 year old and have I have “0” knowledge on website designer and pretty naive on on web designer and on this e-commerce business. I feel I am in my latter life and its too late for me to learn this so competitive business but I am stubborn but sometimes I feel I want to give up and closing this and get stuck on POSHMARK to sell my items. I need help guys!!! I am a solo LLC owner and solopreneur doing all things. My partner is not computer literate and i have no one to ask nor talk to regarding my issues on my website because no one knows anything about it. Not even my “Friend” in FB who works in the hospital has “0” knowledge on it and dont give any support on me to visit my store. So, i I have been here to Shopify for more than 3 month. I have not generated any sales. Not even traffic. Analytics wise, its DEAD “0” and no one visits it. I visit my own store to find at least I visit it. I am desperate. But i am afraid to be taken advantage by store or website developers and tell me that I need to do this or that or that bad pay this amount or what. Many of them are there and how would you guys trust them that they will not take advantage of you too. Three months, no sales, no traffic. Promoted my inventories on Instagram and Facebook and on You tube and bought custom made calling cards and give them to anyone and leave them anywhere . made banners and posted on laundromats and gas stations and still no one visits it. Promoted my store during my live sale on Poshmark, i got warned on it. I am tired of Poshmark auctions,. My items are so expensive and pristine and people there on Poshmark are so cheap and wont buy anything at all but would die to bid starting at $1.00. My viewers also on Poshmark do not get to more than 10 every time because of my prices. Of course I can not sell my item I originally purchased for $1100 louis Vuitton bags and sell it for $800. Plus Poshmark takes 20-25% fees too so For how many years i do not get any profit and yet i still have to pay quarterly tax for the New York state. So i do not know how to profit at all properly. If you guys check my store, you would know what I am talking about. I am getting so desperate because I can not get the support I need not even from my partner. I was on Square before but the same issue, my store did not generate any sales for 6 months so I decided to close it. Now the history seems to be repeating and I really do not know if I am the mistake or what am I doing wrong. Does anyone here have the heart to at least share their thoughts to me or suggest and recommend someone , a developer, or anyone who can help me with advise or a good developer. I am a small time seller only. I work as a med tech before in the lab but since I had a heart attack and and not I am unemployed I really need help from anyone to give me advise. Please.
Thank you Kaiyaa for replying back. I am not a good computer literate person, as a 53 year old person who have worked my entire life in the lab, i have “0” knowledge on develooing website and themes. I am unimplied nos too and after getting heart attack last year I resigned as a clinical lab technologist and have been selling only on postmarks but they get money from me every time because people there want auctions only and I can’t auction my items starting at $1 anymore . I did a few just to get me paying my bills but until when will i do this on Poshmark? I might ended up losing my inventories and auctioning them like give away price. I bought all my inventories from my savings from what I earned when I was still working as a lab tech. I do not want to get deported also in the Philippines for being unemployed for 5 months now but it looks like I would be if I become a liability and ended up in the streets as homeless because i do not have any sales at all and wont be able to pay bills that has been piling up day by day. I am desperate to sought help from anybody who can refer me to help me design my website or guide me know to do it or walk me through at start and i will get into it once i get familiar. I am a fast learner and perseverance strong. Shopify support told me that I can hire someone to redesign my store at $100 and i emails IT partners of Shopify and told me that they initial service is $2500. I can not pay that with financial situations now. I just need help if someone can help me walk me through how to redesign it myself. No one knows or literate on my Facebook “acquaintance” from and I do not want o be a burden to anyone but If anyone can help me walk me through, I would learn it and try.
i sell preowned luxury leather goods, They are called preloved or preowned or simply used luxury leather goods from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, other luxury leather brands. They are all authentic guaranteed. I got them from a good supplier and as I mentioned i used all my savings to get those inventories which I am losing one by one and not getting any profit at all when I sell on Poshmark because of the price and also because of the buyers who come to join the auctions on sellers starting at $1 dollar bid. I tried WhatNot, I tried Facebook live (no viewers at all). I tried live on Instagram (no viewers either). Poshmark buyers scout for great deals and attend auctions from sellers with more viewers. 90% of buyers come there are low ballers and most of the people take advantage of small scale sellers like me who do not have much viewers and try low ball . Such as like me , in order to get sale, i would bite to the bait and selling my item i purchased for $1000 and run on auction starting at $10 so that someone would buy it and rish if it will sell just to get what I paid for but I ended up losing many times.
I never get any more than 10 viewers on Poshmark, probably its because of my number of inventories too . I only have less than 60 items unlike before. I can not get more inventories because I use the money if I get any sale to pay my rent. and get some food for me and my dogs. I have not paid my car lease for 6 months now and i am also afraid that they might take it anytime. Shopify is my last hope to live. My items are all in almost excellent condition and i lost many bags for selling them on auctions with less than 8 bidders only on Poshmark. Also, Poshmark takes 20-25% cut from the sales so basically I did not profit at all. I tried selling on Facebook too, but my friends never supported at all, not even my co-workers who I worked before before. I cant blame them because they might not have any money as well because working in the hospital is more of a service orientated profession and less of profit measure earning money, unless it’s an RN profession.
