Store pickup, store locations, map at checkout issues

Very confusing message in the new cart checkout, not sure when it happened, we just now noticed.

  • customer wants to buy an item that is dropship only, we don’t stock in our store
  • at checkout, they see this (it should NOT even show the option of store pickup as we don’t stock it, nor available as a pickup item at our dropship warehouse, only our physical store (one location) has the option to even do store pickups for anything.

The customer selects STORE PICKUP (item is not stocked for store pickup and is dropship only), regardless they see the store pickup option, and the

Can there be?

  1. NO map location finder for items that are NOT eligible for store pickup,?
  2. Pickup message (if there has to be one) is something we control like the old way in theme content language?. This is what we use to have: “Some of the items on your order are not eligible for store pickup. Please do a separate order or select shipping for your order”.
  3. Can the main issue be fixed? If an item is NOT STOCKED at a location that does NOT offer store pickup (dropship items) that the pickup option does not even show up. If a customer has mixed item’s in cart (items we do stock and can be picked up and a dropship), it does show up but it has this (custom) message instead: "Some of the items on your order are not eligible for store pickup. Please do a separate order or select shipping for your order" We had to add a tag on each item that the item ships direct from the warehouse since they could still choose store pickup (need to be fixed), so we did a workaround where we created a “second store” called Dropship, and we don’t allow store pickup, or local delivery from that location, but Shopify does not take that into account and a customer still sees the local delivery and store pickup options! They have now added that map thing with that message to check other locations, even though we have only ONE STORE and even the warehouse/dropship is in the same zip code, and does NOT offer pickup or local delivery.

Any suggestions to edit this?
