It sounds frustrating! Here’s what you can do to handle the situation:

1. Secure Your Store Immediately:- Change Your Passwords: Update your Shopify account password and any related email accounts.

  • Revoke Access: Go to Settings > Users and Permissions in Shopify and remove any users you don’t recognize.

2. Report the Incident to Shopify:- Use Shopify Support (via chat or email) to report these individuals. Mention that they contacted you claiming to be Shopify experts.

  • Shopify takes impersonation and unauthorized access seriously.

3. Verify Experts through Shopify Partners:- If you want help, only hire experts listed on Shopify’s Partner Marketplace (avoid freelancers using personal Gmail accounts).
