Firstly, how important is your Store Quality Score when it comes to Google Shopping Campaign success?
Secondly, we are currently ranked a “Great” store, very recently “Exceptional”, but we are getting dinged with a Fair mark for our Image Quality and Images per Offer metrics. Do you have insight on how to raise the values of these metrics? We’ve tried adding more images per product, and we have tried resizing the images to 1024 pixels as per the not-so-helpful documentation, but it doesn’t seem like anything we do is changing the output and the metrics, and we can’t seem to get back to Exceptional. Any insight into how we could do better here would be helpful.

If you think about the perspective of a consumer, you would say, oh great this merchant is trusted by Google. This ultimately leads to more clicks, thus increasing CTR, and ultimately increasing your ranking, and lowering your CPC costs.
The reason your metrics don’t change is because the store badge is only updated once per month. So keep on working and improving the images.
However best to use 1300pixels or higher, not 1024 pixels.
And ensure to add at least 8 images per product.
Avoid upscaling, because this may result in lower quality.
