Store with High Traffic but very low session times and ATC

Hello! I have been successfully driving traffic to my store, 300+ sessions for 4-5 days now, with 3.5%CTR on my ads from FB. I kept wondering why there was such low ATC and tried diagnosing the problem, as it doesn’t seem to be an ad problem but rather, a site problem. Here is my landing page for reference https://clearearclean.com/products/clearear-ne3-ear-cleaner?variant=41022107549775

  1. I revamped my store to make things look more professional, taking advice from other community posts (adding sticky add to cart, removing clutter from product page, adding more testimonials, adding more GIFs from UGC, making product photos better resolution, adding more descriptive “About us” and contact pages etc. This was a few days ago.

  2. I suspected potential store speed issues. I asked family and friends to try loading on mobile and desktop - saw no issues - however I don’t know if this could be affected in other countries. I looked into analytics more and saw these strangely low average session durations. Could this be a website loading issue? Or an event tracking mistake? Would anyone know the best way to find the root problem?

I suspect it is a website issue where people try to click and enter the store but it does not load properly. Thanks everyone  .

Hi @billyjames

I’m Garcia, a CRO expert from PageFly - Advanced Page Builder app.

Your store looks amazing and promising after your first revamping! Still, it can use some more improvements so allow me to drop some suggestions here to really enhance your storefront further, increasing your chances of a higher conversion rate:

1. General

  • Add a favicon: A good, visible favicon tells a lot about your brand’s identity and professionalism. Currently, your store doesn’t have one so consider adding a favicon, preferably your logo on a transparent background.

  • Update your store’s font: You’re currently using the theme’s default font. If you like it, you can leave it as is. But I suggest you opt for a unique font of your brand for that brand identity (the font used for ClearEar could be great!).
  • Finish your About Us and Contact page from header: From what I’m seeing, your About Us page and Contact page are looking fine but they can be more polished. Consider adding image banners for both pages, for example, and for the About Us page, you can even include your product’s USPs, testimonials, to convince visitors that your product is the right choice.

2. For the Homepage

  • Update your announcement bar: It’s great that you utilized the announcement bar to promote your ongoing discount. But it’s now plain texts; don’t miss out on precious visitors’ clicks by making the text linked to your premier ear-cleaning product.

  • Update your hero banner: Hero banner takes up 70% of what your visitors see right as they land on your website. Make it count by optimizing your hero banner as follows: Expand your banner image to full screen and the image should either showcase a person using your product with satisfaction or your product on an illustrative background. This will help capture your visitors’ attention immediately.

  • Define your sections: Your Homepage currently has several sections; however, they are not defined. That is, they don’t have a border, heading or background so that visitors can’t identify which section is which. Consider updating your sections by giving some of them a background image/video, add a heading, etc.
  • Add a Testimonials section: A simple section that works wonders. Consider adding a Testimonials section so that visitors know they’re shopping on a widely-trusted product.

  • Add legal pages: Often overlooked pages that are extremely crucial when it comes to legal reasons as well as reassuring visitors that their purchases are protected. Consider adding legal pages on your footer like: TOS, Shipping policy, Privacy policy, Refund policy, etc.

3. For the Product page

  • Make your price stand out: You don’t want your discounted price to go unnoticed. Consider making your price bolded and in different colors like red to capture more attention.
  • Use color swatches: Text-based swatches don’t do much in terms of describing color, but color swatches do. Consider switching to color swatches for better color representation so that visitors know what color exactly they’re getting.

You can look at one of our example templates to get a clue:

4. Gearing up for Valentine’s Day

I see that you’re offering discounts. That’s great! But it would be times better to give it a theme that matches upcoming seasonal holidays. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, consider these practices to highlight your promos so even generate more sales:

  • Add a discount timer: Target your visitors’ FOMO by adding a discount timer onto your hero banner or announcement bar that expires just before Valentine’s Day. This should urge your visitors to make on-the-spot purchases.
  • Make your hero banner(s) Valentine-themed: Capture the holiday’s spirit by implementing Valentine-themed banners that make your visitors feel festive.

You can refer to one of our example templates for a better clue:

Hopefully, my suggestions have been helpful to you today. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Wishing you the best of luck with your store-building journey! For any further questions, let me know in the reply section.

Ran a pagespeed and it is a bit slow according to google

https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-clearearclean-com-products-clearear-ne3-ear-cleaner/a1u05ly5hr?form_factor=desktop

However, it’s not necessarily a speed issue that hinders conversion.

Quite honestly the site itself is fine in my opinion. You just might want to clarify the message a bit, marketing wise, making the user the “hero of the story”. Try to downplay why people love you and emphasize why a potential buyer will love the product. Go 100% on how their life will be improved.

Then, get more reviews.

Your Store is fine.

I think that your trademark word messes with the keywords used for ads and search engines

Clear ear implies also hearing devices, so my theory is that you are getting unspecific traffic, thats why they see your product and go away fast.

I would work with your ads to bring the correct people to your store.

Disclaimer: I’m no sales expert but it happened to me when I brought motorcycle owners to a car insurance website, they clicked but left almost instantly.

My best Regards
