Struggling with sitemap approval on Google: what could I be missing?

I’m following this youtube video to get my website onto Google:

However, it’s not successful, and Google could not fetch it.

I’m not sure what steps I missed etc. ?

After I clicked the highlighted bar it just shows that sitemap cannot be read.
