Subdomains or Separate Domains For Multiple Currency Stores

Hello,

We’ve been currently running our store using shopify pay on a single domain (domain.com). It’s setup as Canadian Currency store, and accepts payments in US dollars and CAD Collars. Unfortunately, as we all know we can only link one currency for paypal, so users thinking they’re checkin gout in USD end up paying in Canadian anyways and aren’t happy.

Since it doesn’t appear this is going to be changed soon, I’m left launching a second store. So I’ll have one store that is USD through out, and another store that is CAD through out. I’m currently using a .com domain and I’m trying to decide to do this with subdomains or separate domains.

Anyone have any deep thoughts on the plusses and minuses of these setups:

domain.com (USA) and domain.ca (Canada)

OR

domain.com (USA) and ca.domain.com (Canada)

Thoughts?

If you go to business settings in your paypal there’s an option to recieve money in customer currency. You can uncheck or check whether they pay the conversion or you. You can select you will pay conversion
