Sudden drop in orders – request for feedback on our e-shop

Hello,

We are a small e-shop specialising in custom-made barefoot footwear. Our main focus has always been quality, craftsmanship and an honest, fair approach to our customers.

We would like to ask for your help or feedback. Over the past week, our orders have almost completely stopped, even though nothing has changed on our e-shop, in our product range or in our marketing activities. In the long term, our conversion rate usually ranges between 0.3% and 0.5%.

We were therefore wondering whether you might be able to take a look at our e-shop and let us know if there is anything that could be discouraging visitors from making a purchase, or what could be improved or done differently to help increase conversions.

Our e-shop can be found here: https://www.luksbarefoot.com/

We would be very grateful for any insights, recommendations or suggestions you may have.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Well the holidays are over, people have less money to spend.

I’m not a fan of the subscription pop-ups, and I appreciate you wait to hit me with it. But… between your chat pop-up, the newsletter, and the exit survey, that’s 3 barriers that distract and prevent me, your customer, from just browsing and seeing what you have to offer.

You ever go into a grocery store and are just immediately bombarded with an obnoxious in-your-face employee? Or just strolling along minding your own business and BAM! you get hit with multiple employees bugging you asking why you are there and if you need assistance?

Again I appreciate that the newsletter isn’t on enter, let me browse. Maybe if your theme permits, on say 10 seconds AND at least 2 pages? But the exit survey. Pretty unnecessary considering how soon it fires.

Seamless customer flow. :+1:

Your Facebook page needs daily or weekly posts. Maybe don’t keep using 20% off? Do something else. BOGO 50% is the same as 25% off 2 pairs.. Can you do a contest? Giveaway? Raffle? Perhaps if you’re feeling generous, you could do a raffle for charity?

Hi there @Lenkajbc just had a look at the store and to be honest, it ticks all the boxes I usually look out for in a store. I particularly love the video you added on the homepage but I think it will be better placed maybe at the top as a sort of introduction to the store itself.

You have a best sellers category which is really good- I’d suggest you add a latest arrivals section too because it’s another popular section that customers tend to check out.

I don’t think the store is really an issue from what I’ve seen, what’s your current mode or strategies for marketing? I think you should maybe assess that and see if it affects results in any way. I wish you the best!

Hi,

Hope this will help

  • Sudden order drops are often caused by traffic or platform changes not store issues
  • Custom products need extra clarity around delivery, process and reassurance
  • Your conversion rate is normal for niche and premium footwear
  • Avoid big redesigns and make small confidence-focused tweaks
  • Check traffic sources and visitor quality before assuming something is broken

@Small_Task_Help Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.
Is it still possible to improve the conversion rate further? I’d definitely love to increase it.

Also, could you advise where and how you would recommend communicating the delivery time so that it’s absolutely clear and reassuring for customers?

Thank you very much.

@Bundler-Manuel At the moment, we’re not really running any strong marketing activities. To be honest, nothing is working particularly well. Our organic reach on social media is very limited, we’re not running any PPC campaigns, and most of our traffic from Google and other search engines is mainly brand-based.

I’d love to ask what you would recommend both for long-term, stable growth and also for a quicker recovery to bring orders back.

Would it be OK if I sent you a private message?
Thank you.
