Hello.
We have a problem on our shop.
Our original website: https://www.home-beddings-and-curtains.com/ has been in French since its creation (2016).
A few days ago, we installed a translation application that created URLs with the suffixes /en and /de.
We realized that the “/en” link was listed first on Google.
So I removed the translation application, but the “/en” page is still indexed 1st on google, and the “/en” page is now a 404 error.
Temporarily, so as not to lose users, I created a 301 redirect from the “https://www.home-beddings-and-curtains.com/en” link to “https://www.home-beddings-and-curtains.com/”.
But this isn’t a solution, as I’ll have to remove this redirect to put the English version online.
I’m just trying to understand why this “/en” link is the one that is referenced first on Google by default.
Thank you in advance,
Best regards,
Max COSTA
