Hi Shopify team and community,
I’d like to suggest adding a native option to sort Smart Collections by inventory quantity — specifically, to allow in-stock products to appear first and push out-of-stock items to the end of the collection.
This would be incredibly helpful for online stores to ensure that sold-out products don’t take up prime positions in product listings. Currently, there’s no built-in way to do this without custom coding or apps.

There is a filter functionality offered by shopify to filter products in terms of availability but yes by default products are just shown in order as they are with available and sold out products all mix-matched. I had a client facing a similar issue and neede custom code to implement it. Not much but there’s no default option.
Also i am not sure if this is the best place to request for updates but rather on the shopify.community.dev, a community including devs and a lot of shopify staffs who can put these requests on the pipeline if they seem fit.
