A beginner Shopify store owner in the cosmetics niche is struggling to generate sales after one month, despite receiving 1,000 visitors and running ads on Instagram and Pinterest. They cannot access Facebook ads due to repeated account deactivations, preventing Meta pixel integration.
Key challenges identified:
Zero sales despite price reductions and paid advertising
Facebook account creation issues blocking Meta advertising
Uncertainty about ad platform selection, winning product identification, and ad creative formats
Community recommendations:
Platform strategy: Focus on Instagram and TikTok for cosmetics; consider Google Shopping ads as they often convert better than social media. Pinterest remains viable given the visual nature of cosmetics.
Store improvements: Invest in professional logo design for better brand recognition, optimize product pages with reviews, improve checkout flow, and conduct A/B testing rather than simply lowering prices.
Ad creative: Use User-Generated Content (UGC) style ads for authenticity and better engagement, though mixing formats can be effective.
Organic approach: Supplement paid ads with consistent organic social media posting using AI tools to reduce time investment.
Timeline expectation: Sales typically require weeks to months of consistent effort and optimization; no guaranteed timeframe exists.

I am totally beginner to this field and also run store and runs on instagram and pinterest on budget.
As it’s been one month since i have started this store. I received traffic with 1k in total so far but i haven’t made a single sale yet even by reducing the price for all the products I have been running ads on social media such as instagram and pinterest but couldn’t run ads on facebook because whenever i create a new account in facebook, it gets deactivated or permanently deleted. This has occurred for me thrice whenever i created a account to use it. Due to this issue i couldn’t use meta pixel and i have to manually insert the code which is difficult.
Any suggestions for marketing, redesign my store, any adjustments to be made, to make sales and running ads.
Need answers for these:
Should i run more than 2 ads on facebook, instagram, tiktok and pinterest?
Which is the best social media platform to run ads for my niche?
I don’t know how to find the winning products on my niche?
How many days will it take for making sales approximately?
Do i need to make some changes on my store?
How do i create a facebook account without being deactivated?
Should the ads be UGC or a regular ads with creative or something? Let me know how it should be.
@Raja24 Hi there, It looks like you’re on the right track! For cosmetics, focus on Instagram and TikTok ads, and consider UGC-style content for better engagement. Work on optimizing your store’s product pages, add reviews, and ensure a smooth checkout. For Facebook, use a verified personal account and business tools to avoid deactivation. Winning products can be found through research on trending platforms like TikTok or using tools like Ecomhunt.
Feel free to reach out if you need help with store improvements or ad strategies!
Lowering prices isn’t necessarily a factor for conversions. I’ve ran lots of A/B tests, and sometimes raising the price gives a higher conversion rate.
Couple things that stand out to me:
Get a professional logo + icon designed. It’s common to need multiple touch points with people to make the sale, good memorable branding will help those conversions. Design is subjective, one person may like a design where another person it doesn’t appeal to them, but professional designers can help with key elements (in your case, making an icon + and spacing out the text in your text-only logo so that it’s easily readable regardless of the device someone is browsing)
Google ads typically convert better than social media ads, I would start there with Google Shopping. That should give you a good idea if people are interested in your offering
It sounds like you’re facing a few challenges, but don’t worry – these are common hurdles when starting out!
Here are a few suggestions that may help improve your situation:
Running Ads on Multiple Platforms: It’s generally a good idea to diversify your advertising efforts across multiple platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. However, since you’re facing issues with Facebook, focus on the platforms where you can run ads effectively. Consider starting with a few ads and gradually increasing based on performance.
Best Social Media Platform for Your Niche: The best platform depends on your target audience. Instagram and Pinterest are great for visually appealing products, while TikTok is excellent for engaging younger audiences. You might need to experiment to see which platform yields the best results for your niche.
Finding Winning Products: Conduct audience research to understand what your potential customers are interested in. Use tools like Google Trends or social media insights to identify trending products in your niche.
Timeframe for Making Sales: There is no set timeframe for making sales as it depends on various factors like product demand, marketing strategy, and audience engagement. It could take weeks or even months to see consistent sales.
Changes to Your Store: Consider optimizing your store for conversions by improving product descriptions, images, and checkout process. A/B testing can help determine what changes might increase sales.
Creating a Facebook Account: Ensure you follow Facebook’s guidelines when creating an account. Avoid using the same information if previous accounts were deactivated. Consider reaching out to Facebook support for assistance.
Type of Ads: User-Generated Content (UGC) ads can be more authentic and relatable, potentially leading to better engagement compared to regular ads. However, a mix of both can be effective depending on your audience and product.
