Summer Update, No fixes to persisting problems and UX UI Flaws

WOOO, YAAA a new update.

And they still haven’t fixed:

-Customizable local pickup prints for the POS

-Hiding the search bar behind a button adding extra steps to finding products instead of the old static search bar

-The active search while typing for the search bar is so laggy it misses letters as you type into it

-The SKU is missing in the comments section after items a received so you cannot tell the actual variant that was received making error tracking a much longer process

-Have not added back in the ability to tag purchase orders or transfers in comments section

-No field for ‘warehouse location’ or physical location tracking whatsoever.

-Purchase Orders have no spreadsheet interaction and only export to PDF, which is all but useless

Just hire someone who has worked with your product before and has taken at least one user design class. Or just hire some interface designers who will actually care about function over making your buttons look a little different because it makes them feel like they can justify their job.

Yeah. The new UI is not good at all. Lots of very strange choices have been made. It’s just not at all nice to look at now.

Yeah, just found another bit today. They took out the accent colors. The ‘save’ and ‘post’ buttons have changed from being the brighter green color to the same black and white theme. They literally made the website harder to use and less contrasting, and the argument could be made that it became less accessible overall for the visually impaired.

Yeah. The theme customiser window is really tiring to use now. It’s just b&w. Except for destructive actions like ‘remove section’ which are still red, but a really dull red that doesn’t stand out like it used to.

For plus stores there is a constant black banner at the top of the admin, which was always the design pattern for unsaved changes. It doesn’t seem like it has been thought through that well.

I get that they’re trying to introduce from skeumorphism to the design but in doing so the actual usability of it has taken a hit. It just looks really dated now.

You should contact them about this if you’re concerned. the more people that do, the more they will realise there’s an issue.

Thanks for putting a name to it. I guess Ill put another complaint in but I’ve put so many in at this point and never seen changes or solutions. Even when the company owner has tried to get solutions all we get is ‘ill send this over to the development team’ which at this point is probably just the trash bin.
