Hello Shopify Community,
I’m encountering a significant issue with my store’s analytics, particularly over the last 3 months. As the attached screenshot shows, I’m observing a high volume of traffic from specific US cities (e.g., Buffalo, Ashburn, Santa Clara, Seattle) that consistently reaches the checkout page but never completes a purchase.
For instance, Buffalo shows nearly 1000 visits and over 700 “Reached Checkout” events, yet zero “Completed Checkout” conversions.
This pattern is consistent across several highlighted cities, strongly suggesting bot activity. This abnormal traffic is drastically lowering my overall conversion rate.
Has anyone experienced similar patterns of high visits and abandoned checkouts from specific locations, especially with a 0% conversion rate for those segments?
I need urgent solutions to:
-
Identify and block IPs: How can I find the IP addresses associated with this suspicious traffic and block them via app ot something?
-
City-specific blocking apps: Are there any apps that allow me to block traffic from entire cities like Buffalo, Ashburn, etc.?
Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
