For several years I have been looking for a solution to my problem that I was hoping to solve by switching to the plus plan but this was not the case, despite the reassurances of the shopify sellers who as usual turned out to be false.
I have a simple need, to collect 3 field for tax information to invoice business customers at checkout.
I would like the customer to be able to enter this information in the checkout and for it to be saved and re-proposed at the next purchase as is the case for example with the address etc.
I was also hoping for the advent of checkout extensions and apps but even with these it seems almost impossible to realise such a simple and indispensable function for any merchant.
I wonder, but why with a $2000 a month platform do I have to go crazy to collect 3 simple information in the checkout that any other e-commerce allows you to do without any problem?
At the moment even the developers have confirmed to me that it is not possible to realise a simple function like this even by developing a Customs application for checkout due to technical limitations of shopify.
I am currently using a change to checkout.liquid but there seems to be no way to collect and re-propose the information to the customer for subsequent orders so every time the customer has to enter the information again.
I hope for a better and more open future than the shopify checkout that allows simple customisations like the one I need without resorting to additional paid applications.
Does anyone have the same problem as me and have they managed to solve it in some definitive way?
