Hi everyone
I’m Vincent, I’ve built Shopify stores and apps for over 20 years, and lately I’ve been working on a small tool called The Fitting Room to test how brands can let shoppers try on their clothes online and capture an email at the same time.
Here’s what I’m seeing so far:
-
The widget is live on a test store, shoppers upload a photo, “try” the product visually, and at a point you can ask for the email (if you want).
-
In early tests the try-on interaction boosts engagement (shoppers spend more time on product pages) and the email cost (in terms of credits spent) is quite low compared with typical list-building ads.
-
But I’m unsure: how likely would you be to include something like this in your email-marketing funnel? For example: “Try it now → give your email → we send you a personal fit/size tip or discount”.
Would love your feedback:
-
If you’re a Shopify merchant or marketer, what would make you adopt such a widget?
-
What email campaign ideas do you think could work around this: welcome series, abandoned try-on, re-engagement?
-
Any concerns you’d have (UX, brand fit, spam risk, cost vs value)?
Thanks a lot for your input. If anyone wants to see the live demo I’m happy to drop you free credits otherwise you can try the demo at: the-fitting-room.app
Cheers,
Vincent
