From Introducing a brand new Collections experience (2026) - Shopify
Surfacing a single product variant option (like a specific color) in a collection works great. For ex these (undrafted) products have 4 colors (Rain, Pine, Rose, Sand), and I can say “show Rose color” just fine.
The trouble comes when I want to surface more than one option. I tried two different ways:
- Adding two variant options to the rules:
On the front end, the only one variant cards appears, but both options appear in the filter. Product count is still 2 (technically correct). This is ok/not broken, but it would be nice to see all four cards, one for each color.
- If I make two single-variant collections (Rose and Sand) and try to combine them using Collection rules:
Shopify gets confused and basically shows the products as-is, and surfaces all options in the filter. This seems buggy, but not sure what the intended behavior is.
