I’ve been editing my site specifically for Colombia. However, some days ago I haven’t been able to access the country selector next to the page selector (check the image attached), so the only option available for editing is the predetermined. When I check the preview it accesses to Colombia’s site but that’s it, no option for editing this one anymore in the theme customizer. I’ve already checked with Palo Alto’s customer service and they didn’t know exactly what to do about this. I’m using Palo Alto 6.2.0 and this also happens with Shopify’s predetermined themes. What can I do? Thank you in advance.
Hi @CharlieCo You can troubleshoot and fix this issue by following steps:-
- Confirm Shopify Markets Setup
- Access the Market Directly in Theme Editor
- Check for Missing Market JSON Files
- Clear Cache or Try Private/Incognito Mode
- Check Theme Code
Ensure the country selector is enabled in Theme Settings, let me know if these work for you or you need a detailed approach.
Hi @Dotsquares . Thanks for replying. I forgot to tell that I haven’t purchased the theme yet but I’ve been working on it, so it seems I can’t edit or access everything you’ve described, so as far as I could check:
-
Markets setup is fine. Colombia is set as default country in every single option.
-
I can’t access the market directly in the theme editor.
-
I can’t access JSON files in the theme.
-
Done and same issue. I even tried to edit the theme on Windows and same thing.
-
I can’t access theme code.
There’s no option available to enable the country selector in Palo Alto’s theme settings but the currency codes, which are not relevant at the moment. Any other options in mind? This is so odd.
I’ve already checked this issue and if you only have one active market it will not show you the selector (since it is shown when you have more than one active market), it would only show in case you have more than one active market. So, I’ve decided to add another market and deactivate it so I can keep editing Colombia’s site.
I have 3 markets active and it will not show still
I am battling with the same problem. Previously I could set the context in the market editor, now it’s not available whatever I do.
The annoying thing is, that a theme was customized within one context. Now even if I have a markets.json and a bunch of *.context.market.json theme files, I can’t access those in the theme editor. I’m looking at how to copy paste the context json files to the parent json files.
I believe the reason for this is that there was some unannounced change with the plans, or I just didn’t notice it. I noticed on this https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/markets-new/overview#plan-requirements-for-markets-features page that “Customize themes for each market” requires the Advanced or Plus plan. The other market features are supported in the Grow plan though.
EDIT: “I meant Previously I could set the context in the theme editor.”
