the 'Minus' button in my cart isn't working. Customers aren't able to remove products from cart!

My customers aren’t able to remove items from their cart. The minus button does not work (circle with slash through it appears when I hover over the minus button) and there is no ‘trash can’ or ‘x’ to remove products from the cart.
