I created a Google Shopping advertisement and installed a conversion tag through the Simprosys Google Shopping Feed app.
My issue is that I can see in my Shopify conversion overview UTM Parameters that the order originates from Google Shopping, but the Google ads did not capture the conversion.
At first, I thought this might be a normal data difference, but as I saw more orders with the same issue, I actually believe the order should have come from Google Shopping.
I think the problem may be caused by one of the following reasons:
-
Perhaps it came from Google’s free product list, so the conversion was not captured in the Google ads.
-
There may be a problem with the code generated by the Simprosys Google Shopping Feed.
-
The data displayed by Shopify may not be accurate.
Which of these is the cause of the problem?
The order summary clearly indicates that the order came from Google Shopping CPC.
But in Google Ads, the purchase conversion is only recorded once.
Adding to cart was recorded some, but it also feels inaccurate.
Starting checkout has not been recorded at all.
In fact, I’m more inclined to think it’s a code issue, but because of Shopify, changing the code is a difficult task and I don’t want to change the conversion tracking data randomly without determining the cause first.
Who can answer this question? Thank you!
