The recent change to the Quantity page of the admin is NOT HELPFUL.

Climbing another rung down the ladder of Shopify’s descent to obsolescence, their newest change to the Quantity admin page has it so that you can’t easily change the quantity for each product. Now, instead of just entering the new quantity in each box (or using your arrow key to quickly go up or down a number or two) and then hitting enter, you now have to select a reason WHY you’re changing the number?! And even funnier - “because I sold it” isn’t even an option - ha! Arrow keys no longer work. Enter key no longer works. With this change, it seems as if they sure went through a damn lot of effort just to make everything a lot harder and less useful!

I really have to wonder: have ANY of the people thinking of and implementing these admin modifications ever used the platform to run their OWN shop? I think it should actually be a prerequisite. Maybe then they would see that everything they do makes things just a little bit harder for all of us…

I’ve been coding Shopify websites for work (and fun), as well as running my own fairly successful webshop for several years now, and I’ve honestly tried to keep quiet with all the little admin alterations that have happened over those years and just grumbled to myself. But with the flurry of REALLY BAD IDEAS that’s been going on over the last several months, I really can’t be quiet anymore. With each wrong move, I’m going to speak up about it - and I know I’m not the only one, judging by the huge increase of complaints on the board lately…

Shopify: please make me a QA tester for these countless small-ish workflow changes you insist on making to the admin!

Seriously. I’m fairly intelligent, very detail-oriented (some would say pedantic) and have been using the platform for several years now - as I said, both for my own shop, as well as building and/or maintaining shops for a couple dozen friends/legitimate clients. Plus, I always manage to find the quickest way from point A to point B (from a workflow point-of view), as I place an extremely high value on efficiency…

Otherwise, you’ll have to keep hearing from me each time you impede my workflow…
