Hi, we have a new store set up; we decided to move our cms from HostPapa builder to Shopify. the setup guide was complete. However, it’s been 3 weeks already and this notice is still showing.
"The Shopify Payments account for this store is under review
For security and privacy reasons, you need to contact the Shopify account owner for more information about this review process."
Question:
Can we already launch and connect our existing domain even though this notice still exists? Will there be no problem if we already migrate and launch our site?
All answers are appreciated. Thank you
Hi @brenda_m13
Welcome to the Shopify Community - thanks for reaching out here.
I understand that you are experiencing some issues with the Shopify Payments account on your store. Based on the screenshot you have provided, it looks like you might not be logged in as the Account Owner - are you on a staff account instead?
The error message seems to suggest that there may be more information available to the Account Owner, so they should log in to their Shopify admin to check. They may have also received email correspondence from our team in relation to this, so checking their email inbox including any spam/promotional folders would be a good idea.
If the Account Owner is unable to locate anything in relation to this, and the admin information doesn’t provide a solution, then they will need to contact our support team directly via our help center so that we can take a closer look at what might be happening here.
You also asked about connecting your domain. Based on the error message in the screenshot, the issue is only affecting the Shopify Payments account on the store, so you should be able to connect the domain without issue! Are you connecting a third-party domain to your store? We have some instructions on how to do this here, but let me know if you need any help!
If you are planning to launch your store before the Shopify Payments review is resolved, then it would be a good idea to make sure there’s another payment gateway enabled such as PayPal - this will allow customers to still checkout on your store in the meantime. Something else you might find useful is this general checklist for launching a new Shopify store. It will help to make sure you have everything ready before launching!
I recommend not to finalize migration and switch to Shopify if you haven’t yet verified Shopify Payments. This is because Shopify without Shopify Payments isn’t really an option.
Ideally, you shouldn’t even setup your store before Shopify Payments is verified. I learned this myself the hard way, when I attempted to setup a store in a country in which i was not based. Shopify Payments couldn’t be activated because of this.
