We’re currently using the Fresh theme from Eight Themes and we’re trying to give our site a more dynamic and visually user-friendly appearance. We’d like to accomplish that through a few small changes that could really bring our site together. I’m attaching examples of what we’re looking to customize as well. The most important change we’d like to execute is to our product page. We have a lot of similar items in the shop and use variants frequently. To help the customers browsing our site, we’d like to replace the dropdown variant selection with a list of image thumbnails for the variants. Currently, we don’t feel it’s very intuitive for the thumbnails under the large product image to be the variant selectors because they just look like image thumbnails to preview the next picture rather than a selection tool. If the same effect could just be moved to where the dropdown is, that would be fantastic.
Next, we’d like to be able to customize the badges on the products as they appear on the collection, search and home pages. Currently, we’re limited to the badges only indicating “Sale,” but would like to be able to add them for “New,” “Limited,” or “Best Selling” items as well. You can see in the screenshot of our site below how they’re currently appearing.
Finally, we’d be very interested in being able to employ some mouse/scroll over effects. Currently, our theme offers zoom and shadow as effects on the products moused over. If we could have the effect be a preview of the next product image, as in the example linked, that would be preferable. The mouse over effect is also limited to products and it would be a nice touch to use it on collection links as in the other linked video. This would cut down on the space to scroll through on our home page.
