This Facebook Page/Instagram account can’t be selected because it’s already connected to a Shopify

Topic summary

A user is unable to connect their Facebook and Instagram pages to a new Shopify store because they’re still linked to an old, inaccessible store. They cannot disconnect the pages from the previous store and found no removal options in Facebook Business Manager despite having full ownership.

Suggested Solution:

  • Navigate to Facebook Settings & privacy > Settings > New Pages experience > Page transparency
  • Claim responsibility for the page by assigning a verified organization
  • This may help disconnect the pages from the inactive Shopify store

Status: The issue remains unresolved pending the user’s attempt of the suggested workaround. The goal is to reconnect existing pages without losing followers by creating new ones.

Hi!

I am trying to connect a Facebook and Instagram page to my shopify store. The problem is that I had connected these pages to a different shopify store which is no longer active and I cannot even access it. This means that I cannot disconnect these pages from that store.

I tried to see if there were options to remove this connection in Facebook Business Manager. But there are no such options (These pages are added there with full ownership).

Please help, as I would not want to start new pages and lose all the followers :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi,

You need to manage the ownership of your Facebook and Instagram pages via the new Pages experience within Facebook. Log into Facebook, navigate to Settings & privacy > Settings > New Pages experience > Page transparency.
Here, you can claim responsibility for your page by assigning a verified organization. This step might help in disconnecting it from the inactive Shopify store
