Thousands of visitors, zero sales

I’ve had my new shop, Gamer Gear 101 (dcf5e3.myshopify.com) open for 4 days now. It’s now day 5, and I’ve gotten over 1,700 visitors today alone, after getting around 30-50 visitors a day the first 3 days, and suddenly over 500 late last night (thanks to the launch of my TikTok ads)

However, only 6 people ended up actually adding stuff to carts, and only 2 made it to checkout. Also, most of my traffic is coming from Egypt, India, Asia, and the Middle East, along with occasional European and US traffic, and I’m getting referrals from unknown search engines in foreign countries. I’m a little paranoid I might be getting bots, but the very few carts and checkouts suggests otherwise.

I posted a $1/day ad on Facebook and Instagram on day 2 that ended up attracting over 150 clicks before they suspended my account for some reason on day 3. So I tried Google Ads and they didn’t even approved me, and suspended my account right away. So I decided to resort to posting on my personal Facebook and Instagram organically while I looked for other paid ad sources.

As for other paid ads, I posted a $5/day TikTok ad last night, and another $5/day Reddit ad this morning. So far the TikTok ad generated over 3,700 clicks, and the Reddit ad did nothing.

call shopify support. it sounds like youre doing some very expensive advertising, also, google sometimes approves stuff but it says its not approved on your store admin

I was spending the minimum required amount that Reddit, Google, TikTok, and Facebook require.

My whole Google Merchant Center account got suspended, I can’t even sell directly on Google anymore. They said suspicious payment activity or something in regards to the advertising ban, and then they disapproved several products in a row before saying my MC account was banned. I’m gonna appeal as soon as I can get access to a desktop computer.

“suspicious payment activity”… they do this to everyone it isnt a big deal. however the only ppl that know how to get rid of it are SEOs’.

however, you get a google account through shopify. so you actually have an active google account but its through shopify. so forget about the merchant center theyre of no use.

i would suggest calling shopify and speaking with a rep you will see what im saying is true. google is a idiocracy and difficult to navigate. but as i said call a shopify rep and add your MPNs’ and stuff and forget the merchant center. theyre reps seem to be new hires for xmas at the moment but they can help

Hi @gamergear101

If you have traffic but no sales, it could mean that visitors don’t find your store reliable enough to finazlie a purchase. Focus on making your store reliable and trustworthy. It is important to make sure your store looks reliable when your promotional campaigns are on. Otherwise, it is going to be a waste of budget on traffic without conversions. Here are some suggestions that you can work on. I hope it would help.

About Us. Add a detailed story of the brand, information regarding your business, and processes for trust. Showing your store visitors that you are real is very important.

Add FAQ section to ensure visitors that all transactions are transparent and easy to complete. Having an FAQ section can help you improve your user journey by addressing the needs of your customers and improving SEO.

Reviews to demonstrate**.** Testimonials are the strongest social proof that you can add to your online store. Studies show that people are more likely to support your business when presented with evidence. Let your customers leave a photo or text reviews and be reminded whenever you prefer. Also, you can motivate customers to leave testimonials through the Loyalty and Rewards program.

Proper About Us and Contact Us pages. Make sure you have such pages and try filling in as much information as possible.

Implement the Rewards program. It will inspire customers to connect more genuinely with your brand. Motivate customers to spurchase by using the points program. Increase engagement by rewarding customers with convertible points with activities like leaving reviews, social following, social sharing, or for every dollar they spend. Collected points can be spent on rewards like gift cards, discounts, free shipping, or free product.

Implement a Referral program. I recommend using a Referral program to give your customers an opportunity of sharing your products with friends and get rewarded for that. Once you got your first clients, try to attract more orders through existing ones. Encourage your customers to help grow your brand community together. The only program that lets you refer a friend, reward both parties, and increase traffic to your Shopify store.

Good luck with your store and I hope it will help.

Hi there,

Have you considered sharing your store with the Reddit community? For example, here are a few posts where people are talking about gaming gear and accessories.
