Multiple Shopify merchants experienced a sudden disconnection between their TikTok Shop and Shopify integration, preventing order syncing. The error message indicated an expired access token that couldn’t be refreshed through normal means.
Initial troubleshooting attempts failed:
Clearing cookies and cache
Reinstalling the app
Contacting support (both TikTok and Shopify provided unhelpful responses, with each blaming the other platform)
Root cause identified:
One user discovered the issue was related to a recent Chrome browser update that blocks third-party cookies by default.
Solution:
Change Chrome settings to “always allow” third-party cookies and delete cookie data for the TikTok app.
Current status:
Most users report the connection issue resolved either through the Chrome fix or automatically on its own. However, a new problem emerged: tracking information no longer syncs from Shopify to TikTok Shop after creating shipping labels.
Temporary workaround mentioned:
Some merchants used AfterShip for TikTok Shop as an interim solution to maintain order flow during the outage.

Hello, so I have had my tiktok shop account linked to shopify for quite some time now and it has always synced the orders from tiktok no problem. However this morning it suddenly stopped syncing orders. When I went to the tiktok app on shopify to check it out, I was met with an error that says: “Internal error, errDetail: access token is expired, please refresh it”
refreshing the page does not help, this error just repeatedly comes back. Then looking at the tiktok shop tab I see that my account is no longer listed there, when I click on the button to log into a tiktok shop account I am met with a big error box that simply says “Something went wrong”. It tells me to refresh the page (which does not work, the error just comes back) or to contact support, which I did and they gave me no useful information and did not resolve my issue.
Has anyone else experienced an issue like this? Any ideas on how to fix it?
I have already tried clearing my cookies and cache, reinstalling the app, and nothing worked, the same error just comes back.
Im having the same issue. it still shows as connected when i go to the tiktok channel on shopify. however, if i try to interact with anything within it I get the same error message
seems like theres a few of us having this issue support was no help whatsoever as always told me to uninstall the app and t=reinstall but im scared to as i have orders to be fulfilled etc and not sure if this would destroy them was also told to go to tik tok and ask for help but to me its a shopify issue as its a acess token getting sick of the problems with this might just call it quits now
I hear you. However I’m almost certain its a problem with the tiktok for shopify app, as they’re constantly making unnecessary changes to it which causes bugs. Tiktok is horrible, there are constant issues with it and no support whatsoever. I am getting pretty tired of dealing with all of their issues as well.
its been a week for me and the issues and errors ive had along the way wow its unreal supports offline too so ive submitted a ticket i had just run a ad telling my potential customers new product were being uploaded all weekend too and then this happens made me looklike a right fool haha see what happens tomorrow i give up for tonight
Same here I was confused as to why it was not working. Glad to see I am not the only one. Hoping this gets corrected soon so I do not screw up my analytics/orders.
Having the same issue, TTS Support is a joke, we run significant volume through TTS and use Shopify as our management, bank holiday weekend very busy for us, with 0 support, absolute joke considering how much we pay in commissions and fees. I have temporarily migrated to AfterShip for TikTok Shop, seems to bring the order feed in for a quick fix, but not ideal as getting very complicated with lots of orders. Also product mapping 400 SKUs in a busy period not ideal. Glad to know it’s not just us, was going crazy trying to figure out a solution. AfterShip if you expect low volumes this weekend, is a reasonable quick fix. Otherwise just have to wait for a fix!
