Hey everyone! :waving_hand: I’m a Shopify PMM lead on the Tinker team. One thing I know comes up a lot when starting a business is getting stuck on the visual stuff (product photos, social content, etc). HI, I just saw your post on another topic page. Great app, but is it possible to use and integrate with Shopify to pull / push images? While really impressive, the current extra steps to update or use existing product photos is an issue, especially when a large catalogue is involved! If they could be used within each other it would be amazing!

Thanks for sharing this, Sharon! Tinker sounds like a helpful resource, especially for new entrepreneurs who may not have the budget or design experience to create professional-looking content.

I have a couple of questions that I think would also help other merchants:

  • Can images created with Tinker be used commercially on Shopify stores, social media, and marketing materials without additional licensing concerns?

  • Does Tinker integrate directly with Shopify so merchants can send generated images or content straight to their product pages, or do they need to download and upload them manually?

  • Are there any AI tools within Tinker specifically designed for creating product lifestyle images, product descriptions, or social media posts?

  • No licensing concerns. What you make in Tinker is yours to keep, download, and use however you like. However, just like all other AI tools, it is the user’s responsibility to review creations and ensure it doesn’t infringe on others’ work.
  • The direct integration has been a common request since we launched! It’s definitely high on the list for the next iteration of the app but for now, it is only on mobile so you’ll have download and upload manually. One “trick” that could make it easier working on desktop is using the “share” feature. It generates a web link that allows you to download images on desktop. (cc: @DDMusicGeek - if this helps!)
  • Product lifestyle images - Absolutely! Look up “Product lifestyle shot” within Tinker. It is one of our most used tools in the app. Also highly recommend the product editorial shot and product studio shot.
    • Within those tools, you can choose your output’s aspect ratio that are already optimized for social like vertical videos for IG and TikTok. There is also a tool called “Social media ad generator” to generate UGC-style video ads.
    • As for product descriptions, Tinker provides free access to Claude, Gemini, and GPT text generators. But if you are a Shopify merchant with a product ready, the easier way is to go to your admin PDP and use the “generate text” feature so it populates directly in your description box.
